Sola Christus (Christ Alone)

Salvation is accomplished only through Jesus Christ. No human work, ritual, or intermediary can

justify and saved us before God. Christ alone stands as the exclusive mediator between God

and people (John 14:6).

A true and faithful theology must remain Christfocused. We believe everything Scripture

teaches because it is God’s Word (John 8:47). Christ is the central theme of Scripture, and the

whole of the Bible bears witness to Him (John 5:39; Luke 24:27; 1 Peter 1:10-12). Without God

the Holy Spirit, we could not receive God’s testimony in Scripture; without Christ, even God’s

words could not save us. Theology is Christcentered because no one comes to the Father

(salvation) except through Him (faith in Christ as Lord and Savior; John 14:6; Acts 4:12) and

because the Spirit works to glorify Christ for our salvation (John 16:8-14).

Jesus is truly God and truly man. He alone reconciles God and people, forgives sin, and

definitely saves those who place faith in Him as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-13). The Father is

well pleased with His Son (Mark 1:11), and He is well pleased with us only as we are united to

the Son (Ephesians 1:6). Jesus alone saves His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21) because

He alone is our Prophet, revealing God’s will for our salvation by His Word and Spirit; He alone

is our Priest, offering Himself as the sacrifice that satisfies divine justice; and He alone is our

King, subduing us to Himself, ruling and defending us, and conquering all His and our enemies.

Jesus is the Savior and Lord who died on the cross and rose from the dead never to die again.

There is no salvation and no fellowship with God apart from Christ. Therefore, we count all

things loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord (Philippians 3:8).
